Welcome to GreyAndYellow! I set up this blog as a birthday gift for my beautiful wife, Lindsay. That was in May…so, I figured I’d get the ball rolling on this thing and maybe she’ll actually get around to posting some stuff, herself, one of these days:) Anyhoo, here’s a quick story behind the name and then on with the posts! We tied the knot last year and our colors were, you guessed it, Grey and Yellow. Not only do they look really really great together, but I liked the combo because, in my mind, they kinda symbolize us. I’m 5 years older than Lindsay, hence the Grey, and she’s pretty much a walking ray of sunshine, so, yeah…Yellow. Plus, she’s usually blonde, so it all works out.
Now, to the reason I created this thing in the first place… To put it simply, my wife is addicted to blogs, especially home improvement/decorating ones, and most especially YoungHouseLove. She gets so engrossed in them, that I could be singing and dancing naked in front of her and she wouldn’t even notice and, in fact, I have. But before I get in trouble for making her look like a couch potato that never pays any attention to her poor husband, let me add that she actually gets very inspired by some of the ideas she comes across and works on all kinds of cool projects. Yeah, I know I’m supposed to hate decorating and colors and anything that doesn’t have to do with football, but guess what, I don’t, so deal with it! Anyway, I thought all the stuff she’s been working on was way too interesting to keep to ourselves, so here we go. And while I’m waiting for her, I’ll show you guys some of the fun (extending the backyard patio) and not so fun (dismantling a trillion pound, rusted over, air conditioner from the Reagan era) things that I’ve been doing since we got married and moved into our historic Victorian house.
